DIAGNOSTIC LABORATORIES

Illustrative

The Imaging Laboratories of Euromedica General Clinic Dodecanese carry out a series of X-ray, X-ray and endoscopic examinations with absolute responsibility, reliability, speed and respect for the patient. The clinic's equipment is state-of-the-art, enabling specialized examinations with high diagnostic accuracy. At Euromedica Dodecanese General Clinic we have established a wide network of partnerships with the majority of Public Social Security Agencies and private insurance companies. You can see them here!

Radiographic - Radioscopic

CT Scan
A CT scan is a thorough imaging of many anatomical areas and organs of the body – from the brain, lungs and bones to soft tissues, the heart and the oral cavity – using X-rays.It is a painless and short examination – its duration varies between 10 and 20 minutes, including the preparation time – thanks to the Clinic's modern CT scanners. A contrast agent may be given on the CT scan to better visualize the spot.

Coronary angiography
CT angiography is a non-invasive and painless diagnostic test through which the coronary vessels are visualized. It is performed with a modern CT scanner before and after the bolus intravenous administration of iodinated contrast agent. Its purpose is to check mainly pre-symptomatic patients, but asymptomatic patients with increased risk factors for coronary heart disease also benefit, while it is also useful in pre-operative control. The exam lasts 30 minutes, which includes preparation.

Magnetic Tomography

Magnetic resonance imaging is a modern, non-invasive and painless imaging method that accurately examines the head, chest, abdomen, vital organs, joints, spine and upper and lower limbs using a powerful magnet as tools and radio frequencies. The Euromedica Dodecanese General Clinic has state-of-the-art tomographs for the most accurate imaging possible.

Mammography

Mammography

Digital Mammography is the most important preventive examination for breast cancer, while with minimal radiation, it can achieve high definition, excellent imaging and greater accuracy in diagnosis. Even tumors a few millimeters in size can be detected through it. It doesn't take more than 20 minutes.
03

Bone mineral density measurement

Bone Densitometry detects whether the examinee has normal bone density, low bone density, or osteoporosis, which increases the risk of fractures. The examination in question is carried out with the DEXA (Dual-Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry) method, which is based on the use of X-rays, but the dose received by the examinee is extremely low.It is a non-invasive and completely painless examination, which takes only 15 minutes and is particularly important for identifying osteoporosis - especially in women - which is considered a silent disease, since it gives symptoms when it has progressed too much.
04

Ultrasound

With ultrasound, a painless and radiation-free examination, a number of body organs can be imaged and information can be given about the examinee's health. An ultrasound does not last more than 20 minutes, while it does not require special preparation, apart from some cases where abstinence from food and water may be requested for a few hours.Among the most common ultrasounds are those of the upper and lower abdomen, internal genital organs, superficial organs, triplex vessels and elastographies.
05

Color Triplex

The color Triplex looks at heart function, the size of the heart chambers, the thickness of the heart walls, the anatomy and function of the heart valves and pericardium. It contributes significantly to the study of congenital heart diseases.

Holter Rhythm

With the Holter rhythm, the patient's heart rate is monitored for 24-72 hours via electrodes and a recording device. The resulting recording is analyzed minute by minute by the doctor, in order to diagnose any problems with the heart rhythm.
05

Holter Pressure

With the pressure Holter blood pressure is monitored for 24 hours through the use of an armband and recording device. The resulting recording is analyzed by the physician, in order to identify any disturbances in blood pressure, to distinguish between primary and secondary causes of hypertension and to determine the relevant treatment.

Fatigue test

The stress test, a cardiac test that checks how well the heart is working during physical activity, is performed on a treadmill while the patient is attached to electrodes so that a simultaneous electrocardiogram is performed. During the test, which is usually 15 minutes, the degree of difficulty gradually increases. The stress test helps in the diagnosis of coronary artery disease, while it is indicated in cases with a family predisposition, when there are disturbances such as dizziness, palpitations, shortness of breath, arrhythmias, etc., but also to check suitability for sports programs.
05

Dynamic Ultrasound

Stress Echo or dynamic echocardiogram is a diagnostic tool for coronary heart disease, while it evaluates cardiac function by imaging it under stress conditions. It has a higher diagnostic accuracy than the stress test and is indicated in patients with cardiovascular risk factors or with already known coronary disease, but also to those who do not have the ability to walk quickly on a treadmill or have changes in the resting electrocardiogram. The test requires the administration of dobutamine through a venous catheter to increase the heart rate, and when this is achieved, an echocardiogram is performed. The exam takes about 30 minutes, while for 30 minutes after its completion, the examinee remains in the doctor's office, so that the heart function returns to normal levels.
